Paint swatches
I love to see paint companies and magazines use innovative styling to demonstrate their range of colours. These colour swatches are from a recent Farrow and Ball supplement for Homes & Gardens magazine. I'm always drawn to piles of leaves (and I got a flower press for Christmas which I'm keen to press leaves in next autumn) so that page really caught my eye - but I think the pile of notebooks is the most effective way of showing the colours. Which do you like?

Wow they are so lovely. The notebooks are fabulous and I like the leaves as well. I'm trying to find the perfect white paint for my house at the moment and it is certainly harder than I ever thought. So many lovely colours!

This is really imaginative, and much more interesting to look at than a grid of colour blocks. I think the notebooks show them off best although I like the black rose/vases one a lot. I think the leaves and the vases are less clear though - is the paint the colour of the shadowy bit of the leaf or the lighter area?
I like the leaves - they are very pleasing to the eye but I agree maybe my favourite would be the notebooks. I love paint colour booklets and cards and have them tucked around in various drawers in the house.
xx
I quite like them all. Very differnt and mysterious.
i love the notebook pile too. and such lovely colours as well! xx
What a great idea - I am trying to choose a paint shade at the moment, and those little boxes are just so uninspiring. Love the books (but then, I would...)
Notebook pile seems easier thus better to use. That idea is indeed creative and innovative!
very creative but I can't help but wonder if most of us can separate the idea of the color from the wonderful textures shown here?
Ingenious! The notebooks are my favourite too - true, clear colours on a large surface area. Ideal!
The notebooks are lovely... I'm sure Elle Dec used to do something similar to this with their 'this month's colours' (so not what it was called but never mind!).
Seriously? Paint swatches? I've never seen them done this creatively before. I love the pile of notebooks too, but I have a thing for books, especially ones in lovely colors.
such a great way of presenting a palette! i really like the notebooks and vases - they kind of help to visualise what those colours might do to a room. after all, we are living in three-dimensional places after all... :)
inspiring too. i can see a sofa with cushion covers in different colours. or a still life of crockery or candles in various tones. hm...
ah you have to love f&b...such beautiful colours and the way in which they've gone about displaying them is inspiring. i love the leaves too. have fun with your flower press...i had one when i was young but i don't know what happened to it. now i come across random leaves under piles of magazines that i forgot about from last autumn!
