Cosy corner

I love this corner in my friend Emma's house. The lamp was one of those finds I can never hope for - a 70s Harvey Guzzini light from her mum's attic. My mum's only legacy from the 1970s is herself, oh, and me. There's not one single vintage orange retro item of furniture lurking anywhere in her house, not in a dusty attic, rotting garden shed, or forgotten corner of the garage behind the turf and sticks. In her own words, she's 'not sentimental' so doesn't hang on to anything past its sell-by date.

The Massimo Iosa Ghini Clone green chair was a sale bargain from Places and Spaces, and it is really comfortable to sit on; just the right shape so that you can sprawl just a little bit, but without becoming misshapen and undignified in someone else's house.

Places and Spaces is a shop I really like; although it's a little bit out of my way, I go there every once in a while just to check the swallows wallpaper I intend to buy is still in stock. There is a day coming, relatively soon, as in sometime within the next two years, when I might actually get around to wallpapering my feature wall.

Lovely. I want to curl up in that chair and read all day.
The only 70s remnants I find in my mom's house are those avocado colored tupperware pieces. Kind of fun, but not really amazing. Sigh.
