Nyetimber street party

Happy bank holiday Monday! If, like me, you were drenched yesterday, in pursuit of a few boats, you'll appreciate how I've enjoyed putting together this post while staying inside! On Saturday I was lucky enough to go to a street party sponsored by Nyetimber, who make very good English sparkling wines. They collaborated with a street in Battersea, to provide a sit-down lunch for over 200 people. And excellent it was, too. The sun even came out for a while!

Sweet peas

Coronation chicken, this recipe devised by Valentine Warner

Raspberry fool with crown biscuit, made by Rose Prince

Winner of the residents' cake competition

Red, white and blue flowers

And fashion... {loved the shoes}

And Spud the dog, one of few pet photos you'll see on this blog {dressed up dogs, even less likely to make an appearance}. Photo from Looking to Cook on instagram. Hope you're enjoying the extended holiday, if you're in the UK. I'm very excited that there is another whole day off tomorrow!

Yes, Ok, I'm totally jealous! :) Love these photos. How wonderful. I remember celebrating the Queen's Silver Jubilee when a very young boy with street parties -- The only time we ever got to talk to our neighbours on our busy London street!!
