The Vintage Gardener

Right now, I'm obsessed with container gardening, although this has not been translated into any actual planting (is it too late to plant some herbs?) Instead I am looking out for fetching containers, such as these baskets and buckets from The Vintage Gardener.

Lovely! It's not too late to buy some potted herbs and plant them (I wouldn't grow from seed at this point though!) You can probably find some tomatoes and strawberries to transplant into pretty pots as well!

"The Vintage Gardener" - the name itself makes me sigh with pleasure. I have had the joy of studying sixteenth- and seventeenth century gardening handbooks and the above name would be worthy of a noble horticultural treatise.

This is a great blog ;-)

I am too! Every time I find an old watering can I pick it up, I may be starting a collection.

You know the herbs you buy in pots at the supermarket? I planted a few of those with the children in look after in July last year. They are thriving, particularly the parsley. GO FOR IT!

I'm growing 'cut and come again' salad leaves in old painted wine pallets.

Never too late! Although I too would recommend buying some herbs and planting them out. Love these containers too!
