Wednesday workspace
One of my favourite workspaces to date, even though I couldn't sit on that chair for more than two minutes. I love the green, the industrial wire chic and the huge blackboard. Is there anyone in the world who doesn't love a blackboard?Margot Austin, via Fleur Avenue.

And, relax.
I'm just recovering from a very busy week and long working hours. But my week has been filled with excitement!First, my shop was featured on Daily Candy. I am thrilled with the response. It's been great to realise that my favourite items are my customers' too.
There's a little interview about me and my business at The Shop Bug - thanks Rachel!
My shop is nominated for a Shopify design award - please help me raise my profile and vote for me here. I think you need to be a Twitter-er, but if you vote you can be in with a chance of winning a Macbook Pro and some other Apple goodies.
I am lucky enough to work a four-day week, and I've set tomorrow aside to accomplish a lot of non-blog things, so I'm leaving you for the weekend with a picture from Hannah's blog, Hello Mr Fox. I love this photo from her new flat - see more of her lovely little collections here.

Made by Julene
An intricate laser cut design by Julene Harrison, available on Folksy and Etsy. Julene also takes commissions for original hand-cut paper cuts - see some of her commissions here. Do you have a favourite phrase you'd like to see in an artwork?

Jen Rowland
I'm smitten with these bold designs from Jen Rowland, in all of my favourite tones and printed on natural linen and silk fabrics. Jen's fabric designs are also available on cushions, tea towels and gorgeous tote bags (I'm particularly fond of tne one with jute handles.)

E is for Emma
Wednesday workspace: a cosy corner
A lot of Victorian properties have alcoves on either side of the fireplace, which often have built-in shelves and cupboards on either side (as does mine.) But I love this cosy corner (which still has shelves above) and am imagining it would be a lovely place to write letters next to a glowing fire. Yes, it's getting chilly here already and another year has passed without me having investigated whether I can open up my fireplaces (which I am not even sure are blocked up.)via Homes and Gardens.

A vintage-inspired wedding
I don't write much about weddings on this blog, but this collection of old milk glass vases (my favourite) and these little jars of honey as take-home presents persuaded me to make an exception, as they are both ideas I really love. This is the wedding of Kristi's sister and there are more photos and wedding posts here - other lovely touches are the vintage cocktail dresses as bridesmaid's dresses.

Five Friday Faves

These photos actually make me long for rain.
More evidence that I need to go to the Kempton Park Antiques Market.
Yep, it's true - the Sartorialist is coming to London - more information about the 'Sartorialust' and Liberty signing here.
I love the idea, but I don't know if I'd have the patience to disassemble a cocktail umbrella and put it back together...

Autumn tights
I am very much a skirt and tights girl. I rarely wear plain black tights, preferring colour, in lots of styles. I buy my tights from Tabio and Top Shop (the Top Shop own brand wear really well.) I'm not afraid of wearing bright colours, and this season I am going to seek out ribbed tights as my style of choice.London Love

Tim Irving

It's been a while since I have seen photographs I love as much as these, by photographer Tim Irving. I'm very close to buying one of these prints (only £12) although I can't decide which is my favourite. Is it the breezy, carefree image of paper lanterns on the beach, or the more atmospheric night flowers on the edge of a damp pavement?
Wednesday workspace
If I was a contestant on Through the Keyhole (sadly demised, I think) I would say that this is not the office of a disorganised person. Female, yes, someone with kids, yes, and not the kind of person who has piles of unopened post at the bottom of their stairs. I think that all mail would be handled just once, and then shredded or filed straight away, just like in those 'how to organise your life' books which more than one friend has bought me. Just a hunch.via Cookie Mag.

Cloud Appreciation Society
I have been a huge fan of the Cloud Appreciation Society (and their subject) ever since I read The Cloudspotter's GuideNell Smith

Polaroid postcards

I'm selling Polaroid postcards, have a much-loved Polaroid subscription, and my own top-secret Polaroid project (soon to be revealed), so discovering this genuine Polaroid postcard group on Flickr was a perfect revelation. The group's members took photos of their city and addressed them as normal postcards. What an exciting thing to receive in the post.Kitty and Polly
Welcome to new advertiser, Kitty and Polly. Kitty and Polly is a cute little emporium of lovely gift ideas, stocking items from lots of independent British designers. Polly and I seem to share a love of birds, as they crop up frequently in the range - my favourite items are this metallic clutch bag, vintage style bracelet and adorable ceramic brooch.

Five Friday Faves

One of my favourites this year - love love love this doily sweater
Inspiring picnic ideas for the end of summer.
An easy peasy headband tutorial.
A request, please. Would someone like to get up at 4.30am to take me to this market? I can't find any takers...
I love Yvonne's new office in a prison and her packing station.
Have a great weekend - it looks like sunshine here! I'm going to a picnic tomorrow and there is no wet weather plan, so I have my fingers crossed! I also have to attempt to make bunting this afternoon.

I want to go...

to the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum. This is just my thing. I love obscure little museums, and people who are passionate about their interest, even if not many other people are. A friend once told me his town had a Dr Pepper museum. Which has been the best small museum you have visited?
Seen on I like.

Wednesday workspace
With autumn just around the corner, this bright office with its beach vibe is helping me to hold on to summer just a little longer... I love the framed bird, and the little collection of ceramics and glass on the round platter. From Desire to Inspire, via We Heart It.
