Zebedee

Zebedee is my latest Folksy discovery, selling these fantastic linoprints which make me want to plot an escape to the English countryside (but not for long, I'm a city girl through and through.)

Perhaps I am craving some green grass as even the names of the prints are making me feel very calm and tranquil. Patchwork Fields - bliss. It reminds me of the small squares of Irish fields I see from the plane window every time I fly home to see my family (my brain is blank - someone remind me of the name for how they divided these small fields in the 19th century?)

Just the name 'Meadow' makes me happy - I've always dreamed of going to the golden meadow from the film Shadowlands (does that exist or have I idealised that in my mind, maybe it was a valley?) I love the colour in these prints.

Storms are my favourite type of weather, so photos and pictures with ominous clouds always catch my eye.

I even love the little dots of colour at the bottom of each print - can you tell I'm enamoured with this artist?

God, I learnt that field thing in GCSE history... and now it's going to be playing on my mind all night :).

Hi there...I am looking for an Etsy artist to collaborate with...I'd like to create a line of vintage herb tags, labels for canning, pickling, home brewing, a kitchen calender to keep it all organized, and a farmers' market/csa check-list. Do you know of anyone?

precious artwork, the black and white looks like a woodcut? very scandinavian in appearance, simply lovely.

I loved those lino cuts, especially the first one. I think you are thinking of the 'strip system' of dividing up the fields in medieval times?

They are very reminiscent of woodcuts, which I love and which remind me of The Canterbury Tales.
