Lisa Stickley

Landor Road in South London is not the first place I would expect to find a shop as appealing as Lisa Stickley. However, this textile designer's shop offers a lust-have shopping experience, with lots of stylish but practical homewares, with a distinctive retro meets modern vibe.

I'm sure I need to own a lot of the items on sale (all of which are available online), including the following: Vintage plate placemats - I have decided to follow the advice I read in Elle Decoration this month and make a habit of setting the breakfast table before I go to bed. I think these placemats would be the perfect wake-up tonic on a dreary morning, accompanied by linen napkins and real silver cutlery bought from junk shops. Perhaps only on Saturdays. Laundry bag - I prefer to use a laundry basket, but I have an overflowing 'odd-sock bag' whose unmatched contents could very nicely be transferred to this.

Round cushion - a perfect complement to my new grey walls and an increasing feminine vibe, there are a range of sizes and styles of cushion, available in lots of colourways, including red and yellow.

Alfred shopper - a more unique and updated look than the similar but ubiquitous Cath Kidston bags, I especially love the yellow versions (one of which is seen here.)

Cake stand - can you ever have too many? I am still on the lookout for the perfect cake stand to store often-mislaid keys. And although it seems like Lisa Stickley is busy enough, I think that she should consider squeezing a tiny table or two into her shop and serving afternoon tea on one of these cake stands, laden with homemade scones and Victoria sponge. I would even work there myself, all tarted up with red lipstick and an immaculately powdered face, with a figure-flattering swing skirt. It's just that kind of shop.

Lisa Stickley has had a lot of great press recently - see here for a glimpse of her own vintage-inspired flat, featured in Elle Decoration this month.
