Around my house: 2009 edition

So, 2009 was a year when I didn't buy much for my flat. Except, when I decided to take some photographs, I discovered there were a few new acquisitions...

To help me get organised: 1. & 2. Muji, 3. Storage box on wheels for printer paper, from Rose and Grey, 4. Ikea baskets for mountains of magazines (for business research.)

5. Antique mirrored fireguard from the Northcote Road Antiques Market, SW11, 6. 2010 calendar (only hung last week) from The Wild Unknown, 7. Not yet framed art, Feathers watercolour by Anna Betts (very similar to this one) and vintage page from typography catalogue (from somewhere on Etsy), 8. Blanket from Namolio (which I thought was grey, it isn't, but I kept it anyway, it will go somewhere less matchy eventually), 9. Tray from Ikea, 10. Not pictured separately but in the background, Rope rug from Habitat (I can't find it online but they still have it and I'm really pleased with it - I'm planning a 'Rope' post soon...)

So, that's a few things... apart from the fact I don't really love Ikea and I'm not actually into baskets that much, I think I've stuck to my signature style pretty well, and I'm glad to have supported some small designers. I'm planning not to buy much in 2010, but we shall see...

love the calender, we wanted one of them too but they all sold out. it's nice that you bought stuff from small designers, we are certainly all for that.

we just started a new blog, by the way - felt like a change and a new look. we only started it monday but pop by if you get a chance .. http://pachadesignjournal.blogspot.com

Your fireguard is beautiful (I never thought I'd say those words?). And now I am officially on the hunt. I am not much for mirrored decor but this is so unique and so totally subtle. Wonderful find. Marija
