4 Princelet Street

No. 4 Princelet Street is a Georgian merchant's house in the historic London area, Spitalfields. It's been preserved in this style and is available to hire for location shoots and for functions. A few years ago a publishing company I worked for had an atmospheric launch party here for a dark-themed book. You can take an online tour here.

A plan chest I missed first time round.

PS I'd like to visit 19 Princelet Street. And if you're visiting from The Guardian, welcome!

I can hear the floor boards creak just by looking at the pics...what a great space that would be to poke around in...and the patina on the outside shot is crackly lovelyness...

Add a big foofy bed and I'll move in! An amazing place: can just picture resting by the fire, boots on the fender, tumbler of whisky by my side.

Princelet Street is so beautiful. My family has some connection with 19 Princelet Street, the old synagogue...Have you read Rachel Lichtenstein's Rodinsky's Room?

The wood in all these shots is just gorgeous, so weathered and worn. So many feet must have stepped over those magnificent floorboards

Have you ever seen this movie "Onegin" ? It is based on a play by Pushkin "Yevgeniy Onegin". The story takes place in Russian country side and St. Petersburg. In the movie rooms have chipped paint walls, the hoses look abandoned yet they are occupied. It is a really beautiful movie.
