I've been toying with moving a desk in front of a window. Do you think a tranquil vista is required? At my window I would be looking straight at my opposite neighbour, or their permanently flashing burglar alarms. I could always sign up for Neighbourhood Watch. I'm totally inspired by this bright desk from the amazing Finnish blog My Second Hand Life. I have quite a few customers from Finland, I think Finns must have excellent taste :) Have a look at this party and this spring arrangement.

The picture is lovely. Depends on whether you like looking at your neighbor. I am more of a private person. I like natural light but I prefere looking at it through some leaves or sheers. I have also seen an adhesive film that looks like lace on decor8. Perhaps that might be an idea. Be happy.
That looks like a lovely bright (and very neat) workspace. I could quite go for something similar!
