Business cards

Still sans laptop, and getting so much done! I've signed up for this small business networking evening by Red Magazine with Jo Malone but bemoaning my lack of business cards! I never seem to have quite enough spare cash for the lovely letterpress cards I want...

I love, love, love these watercolour business cards by Jordan Ferney, which I have had bookmarked for a while.

Hello

Hi, just a quick post to say I may be blogging intermittently for a few weeks as I have a few IT issues {ie my laptop is officially dead this time} and it's coincided with a few demanding weeks at my job. If I get the chance I will still post a few pretty pictures here and there {in the absence of Photoshop, I've been using Picnik in my lunch hour, which I think works pretty well and is free.}

Yesterday I popped into Lush, which is a shop I don't usually frequent, but I was lured in by these glittering treats on their front table, which look a lot more sparkly and appealing in real life. Sunny Side is a bubble bath bar made with tangerine and mandarin oil, and I need to buy one just to confirm that you don't end up covered in glitter!

Tea of the week: Wild at Heart

When inspiration is lacking, there are always flowers in teapots...from the portfolio of top London florist, Nikki Tibbles at Wild at Heart. Does anyone have any recommendations of British florists with pretty websites? There is the sublime Miss Pickering, of course, but I find that the photography is quite poor on most of the florists' sites that I visit.

Supermarket Sarah

I've always loved how Supermarket Sarah styles her vintage fashion, but hadn't noticed before that she sells homewares too - I love these walls, especially the collaboration with Sarah Palisi.

Half price sale at Papermash

Lots of items are half price at Papermash this month, including this cork pen pot, letterpress scalloped notecards, lead crystal paperweights and these metallic cards - which would be lovely written on with a silver pen. I have smallish quantities of some of these, so act fast if you would like something - some sale items are sold out already.

Papermash has just had a great press scoop - first person to spot it and leave a comment (with a page reference) will win a box of red striped straws!

Bright stuff

Bright colours are not my natural default position, but I thought these images would cheer up a dreary first week back at work. Top photos from the portfolio of costume designer Isabel Czernin Fishlock, and cushions by Brie Harrison.

Cloud Association Society

I spent a lot of time over Christmas looking outside for impending snow clouds. I still don't know which ones they are {please share if you know} so I hope to improve my knowledge with this poster from the Cloud Association Society.

NB cute cloud cards + tights {I want to get these for my little niece.}

Persephone Diary

I clicked on this + bought it as soon as I saw it on India Knight's Posterous - the Persephone diary for 2011. Each page has a reproduction of an endpaper from the Persephone book collection. Hopefully I will photograph it in situ soon, so you can see its lovely classic grey cover too.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you have survived the big chill are are feeling upbeat about 2011. I'm making smallish resolutions, such as eating healthier {I'm reinstating my organic vegetable box, after a falling out last year}, which I hope will give me a boost during these tough months. How about you?
