The Groundhouse, Brittany

I am just returning from a short holiday in Brittany, where it rained for five days straight. Still, I spent much of the time reading a photography book, and trying out a new lens. I was able to visit the Groundhouse, which was featured on Grand Designs, and was built with sustainable principles {including a composting toilet.} Below are a few of the small details in the house which I liked {I also loved the barewood plaster walls and plywood kitchen.}

The walls in the background are made from recycled glass bottles.

I'm writing this on the ferry - hoping to head back to the UK for sunshine!

I'm sorry you didn't see the sun in Brittany. We haven't seen much of here either! Your pictures are very interesting.

Not a lot of sunshine here, sorry! Hope you have more luck in London. And this house is amazing!

Lovely wooden lights - and very nice photography.

Sorry it rained all the time but catching up on some reading is pretty good though... I am so behind on reading anything right now.

LOL I wonder where you were exactly - our house is near Perros Guirec in North Brittany and we spent the 5 rainy days ensconced in front of a wood fire reading, knitting, watching dvds... bliss! Plus we went out to eat, watching the storms and rain in the bay - and then, on day 6, it was gorgeous and stayed pretty nice for the next week ;)) We've had to come home, now - to more rain :O
