Snow globes

Snow globes make me happy, so I commissioned artist Clare Owen to design this exclusive snow globe screenprint for Papermash. I love Clare's style, so I was excited to see how her designs would translate to the screen printing process.

My snow globe collection is fewer than I would like {currently none} due to my strict criteria of glass, no plastic, no Santas, reindeers etc, a neutral colour palate, and good quality snow - but perhaps non-tacky is missing the point?
The best of a bad bunch; I'm impressed that Waterford Crystal makes snow globes, such as this angel snow globe {£30} - I actually prefer their Time Square design, were it not for the fact that I have an aversion to hearts. On the right, I'm put off by the 'Merry Christmas' {in my mind, although possibly not yours, snow globes are not seasonal} but this Georgian House design from M&S is the most classy I've seen {although at £9.50 I suspect this must be plastic.} I think there's a gap in the market for a cool, designer snow globe...

A nice idea if not perfectly executed - snow globe decorations from Laura Ashley {in silver and gold.}

I'm very tempted to treat myself to these tea towels from To Dry For; Shake it by Charlotte Farmer and Eiffel Tower by La Cerise sur Le Gateau {technically not a snow globe, but very snow globe-esque, n'est ce pas?} If you've seen an elegant snow globe out there anywhere in the world, please let me know...

I love snow globes. There's just something so magical about them... I like the M&S one too, but I definitely agree about the "Merry Christmas" written on it.

I have just bought the M&S georgian house snowglobe for my very stylish mother and think it is very good value for the price. Am a huge Christmas decorations fan and would love suggestions for original yet stylish decorations I can buy.

I like the ones from Past Times - nicely painted and good quality. I have the Snow Angel one. Still on the look out for "the one" though.

I love snow globes too and do agree their is definately a gap in the market. I did see a nice double swan one at Liberty online last year. And I have one with a carousel horse I tracked down online.

Snow globes should come with a huge warning they contain antifreeze. If they break and a cat or dog gets into the liquid, it is fatal. The antifreeze is used to make the snow fall slower.

Weren't you looking at one from West Elm a year or two ago?

I don't know if these are glass, but they're pretty:

Here's a snowglobe with the Tower of London (the review doesn't make it sound very nice, though):
