Alfresco dining

At the weekend I enjoyed a coffee and the paper at the top of the steps down to my garden (I'll take a photo another day) which is not quite the same as having a lovely balcony you can step straight out onto. Even having the tiniest balcony, with space for a pot of lavender, would bring me so much joy...(although I am grateful for my outdoor space.)

I'm very lucky to have a huge balcony overlooking our garden and olive trees. It's probably one of the main reasons why we bought the place. I'll post some pics one day...when we've fiished renovating !

Just read my comment (sorry about typo) and I hope you don't think I'm bragging... I just saw the first pic and the view is very similar to ours:)

Kickcan and Conkers - not at all! These are very important things to consider when buying a property...

Breakfast on the balcony would be a wonderful way to slowly start the day! Unfortunately, if I step out of my living room, i'd fall 29 floors down so I guess, I'll just have to keep yearning. Beautiful images!

Living in the country totally floats my boat! I have no steps and only a little garden but my rented cottage is surrounded by fields for miles around with 360 degree views. The cows and horses look right into my kitchen window and in the morning all you can hear is birds. There is something about the natural environment that money just can't buy :]

Believe the last image is by Pia Jane Bijkerk who does the 'made by hand' series of books. I saved it myself when it was featured on Simply Seductive. I have a teeny balcony which I've been desperate to find a nice little set of table and chairs for but haven't found anything nice so far that isn't prohibatively expensive

Dining alfresco, with the breeze and the sun and a good book... and a bit of espresso. To die for...and so French! Lovely images.
