Blue rooms

Well, the less said about SATC2 the better, although it was a pleasant enough way to pass a few hours. It raised the same question for me as SATC1 - not should Carrie have married Mr Big (no, I think) but would I ever paint a room blue? The only blue room which has really caught my attention in a good way is Zooey Deschanel's apartment, above, but now I come to think of it, if she wasn't in it, and she wasn't wearing that yellow skirt, I'm not sure I'd be so keen?

I think I'm a grey and sludge green kind of girl. But as a teenager my room had yellow and blue striped wallpaper, in a similar configuration to Zooey's, except that I had a navy blue gloss dado as my decorating USP. Perhaps I've just moved on, but never say never...

Have you ever decorated with a colour you never thought you would?

Yellow! Still miss my yellow walls, but the husband was made headachey by them - trying to convince him now that the odd black wall here and there would be a lovely thing indeed. He's not buying it.

I bought a house once that had green walls - very pale, mind you, but still green, and my first thought was that the green had to go, but after moving in and living in it, green is a wonderful colour to live in!

I did paint a bathroom a lovely yellow called duckling once. That was really sunny and happy.

My current toilet walls are a mustardy colour - like dark sand, and textured too, also like sand, with handprints of all of my family on the walls.

Hmm know what you mean about Zooey's house. Might feel a bit 90's without her in there? But I dont generally subscribe to the 'Zooey' craze. (cant get my head around that spelling)

I now live with white walls due to the fact that we rent our flat, and i actually love it. I like making it colourful and personal with the stuff i put in to it. but when i was a teenager I had 2 lime green walls and 2 lilac walls, with a wobbly border of the opposite colour at the top of each. yep. I loved it at the time!

The Polly Wreford one with the fireplace is beautiful. The rest of them I fins either a bit cold or somewhat oppressive.

I am absolutely dying to paint our massive, Victorian, bay-windowed bedroom grey, but we rent so i can't!

We need to paint our bedroom, and my plan was on a gray and yellow palette with gray being the main color... but oh my, these blue rooms are so pretty and I love those deep vivid blues! Perhaps I need to change my palette...
Happy weekend :)

yes, my bedroom. I did it in lime green and yellow and I love it. It worked really well and surprised me. I like the bath room above with the wooden panels painted light blue, but I'm not a fan of dark blue.

I didn't think that Carrie should have married Big! Fine, they could stay together if she wanted to forgive him for the wedding fiasco, but she never seemed the marrying kind to me.

Anyway, I have a pale blue bedroom and it is peaceful and lovely. White, wood, and black accessories, and I love it.
