Blogging for beginners

Ooh.com is a website which lists lots of exciting, creative events and courses around the world. It's free to add a listing or course, and current UK courses include a beekeeping taster course, graffiti classes and food smoking.

I have just listed two blogging workshops. I've been trying to teach a blogging course for a while, but a few opportunities have fallen through, so I thought I'd try creating my own. I've designed two courses, which will be a half-day workshop in London; blogging for beginners, which will cover how to set up and promote a blog, and blogging for designers and design-based businesses, which is similar to the first course, but will also cover how to use your own and other blogs to promote your small business. I actually took a blogging class in New York a few years ago, and it helped me enormously with this blog. Of course, Tea for Joy is a long way from perfect, and it's difficult to work full-time and have time to provide the quality of content I'd like, but I think I do have some useful tips to share. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Hi Lynne,
thank you so much for this lovely post. We love blogging and we think it's a really important, creative and fun thing to do. The blogging courses sound great and we're also very happy that you've decided to try our new booking button on your site!

We hope the courses go well,
All the best,

The Ooh.com Team

Lynne,

I would love to take one of your classes! Are they online, or in class?

Love that site - I am moving to London in four days and desperate for things to keep me busy when I have no social life.

I will definitely be signing up as soon as we're settled - then maybe we could go to Afternoon Tea Lessons!

p.s. appreciate you don't want to publish your address online, but if you could drop me a note where the class will be held it will help me plan childcare etc

Oh Lynn!

I became soveryexcited when I read this pots and then almost wailed when I read the course date! I shall be moving home from south east London to Leeds on 16 April!

I'm gutted.

I would have loved to have been able to attend your course. I really feel that I need direction with my blog even though it is nearly four years old. I'm just not sure what I want it to do anymore :(

Ah well. Good luck with the sessions, I'm sure you will be brilliant!

Interesting...my therapist asked me what I would do if I didn't have to work, if money was no object...and I told her blog...I will look into this!

Philippa, if you email me we might be able to work out something before then. The first thing you should do to help your blog is to enable your blogger profile - I can't see what your blog is. And, wanting to give it up is not a bad thing. Sometimes I think it is not the best use of my time either.

Opps! Thanks Lynne - I thought my profile was view-able. Must have clicked a button whilst I was fiddeling with the layout a while ago!

Fixed now.
