A floral reprieve

I am planning to rearrange my spare bedroom to turn it into an office. I can't decide whether to put the desk beside the window as it means I would be looking onto a brick wall (or rather, straight into my neighbour's bathroom window.) As I've spent more time working at home over the last few years, I have become more aware of the sunshine, the seasons, the mood of each day, and wonder if this view would cause me anxiety, even though I've always managed perfectly well in a lifeless and sometimes windowless corporate office (and soon will do so again). While I mull it over I can comfort myself with these few floral images as a reminder of nature - some out of season perhaps, but uplifting all the same - and a reminder that my favourite season, daffodil season, is coming very soon.

Is there enough room to put your desk at a 90 degree angle just beside the window, so that you get the light, but not the direct view of your neighbor's window? If all else fails, maybe you should line the windowsill with some of those wonderful flowers displays on a daily basis!

My office window faces a thick hedge so I decided I couldn't bear to look at that all day when I first set it out. So it now sides to the side but still gets the light.
You can always have a shuffle if you don't like it that way.

What are the other options for your desk's position? As long as you have a bunch of gorgeous flowers on it, I'm sure you won't be anxious!

Thanks for the ideas - I think I will have to put it somewhere else as I can't look at that view! - it's a very small room, with fireplaces, doors and radiators in the way, so I just need to find somewhere where it might fit. 90 degrees is the best option but I'm not sure there is enough room.

I love the flowers. They are all so adorable and I like to place them all at home. The problem is I really don't know to arrange flowers.

its a definite necessity to have some plants/flowers in your workspace.... so if you get depressed with the brick wall you can just gaze at the flowers to cheer you up! ;)

What about putting some film on the window so you get the light without the view (I have this in one of my rooms http://www.emmajeffs.co.uk/)
