British shopping: Whippet Grey

Whippet Grey is a British online shop stocking a large range of quirky treasures sourced from around the world. Usually I can recognise similar suppliers which online gift shops use, but Whippet Grey's stock is very unique. Interested in owning a 1947 Indian fireworks box? This is just the place. Most of their finds are expensive, but there is the occasional item which might just make a potential shopping list during the crunch, like sweet zinc hearts and the adorable tea lights below.

1. Fireworks box, 2. German flour sack bag, 3. Rose glass tea lights, 4. Zinc hearts, 5. Square zinc labels.

My absolute favourite thing about Whippet Grey is that there are a lot of birds everywhere, such as the delicate wire birds below. A search for 'bird' returned 59 items, all of which I love. There are also lots of educational nature-inspired items, of which my favourite is a box of woods. I've just noticed it is in the children's section, but I'm still learning, aren't you?

6. Wire birds, 7. Bird calls. I'm not sure why I would ever need a £142 set of bird calls, including a skylark, turtle dove and nuthatch (not birds I'm likely to encounter), but this is one of the most appealing items I have ever seen in my life. If I owned it, I would love it dearly, even though I'm sure it would be relegated to the back of a cupboard after about ten minutes.
