I think it might work well on this fireplace wall, in my kitchen.
Other options for this wall: a collection of plates (I'm trying to collect milk glass plates - I have 2 so far), a blackboard in a vintage frame (or painting the whole wall in blackboard paint) or simply a collection of small prints. Any favourites, or other suggestions? I am a little obsessed with blackboard paint, but I have owned this IKEA cupboard for five or six years and have only written on it a handful of times.

Hey Lynne,
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. It hasn't been as updated as I planned but as I spend more time blog hopping, I'm more inspired than ever.
You have such a nice blog, I'm now a follower.
i love that clock! although maybe it's a little too small for that wall? although not a problem if you're making your own. love the plates and blackboard ideas too, so hard to choose!
i love the idea of making a clock for your wall. i saw one in a magazine recently where someone stenciled these really cool roman numerals plus a design on their wall & then placed the clock mechanism in the middle. i love it!! i want to make one in my house one day.
happy friday!!
I saw that on decor8, and I loved it, too. I think it would look great on that wall, but then so would milk glass plates (when you find a few more). And now you've got me thinking about it a lot and I don't know which idea I prefer, haha!
Love this idea!
I know i should be thinking about the clock..but, i'm mesmerized by that little fireplace! does it work? can you burn wood in it!? i want one for, well, every corner of the house!
HI Lynne...happy friday to you. I know dont you LOVEEEEE this wall clock idea. I want to do this BUT no wall space left in our house for all these great projects!
I vote on the clock on that wall. You could even do your own paintings, or double it up with the plate collection...
I also like the idea of the blackboard wall, but I prefer those somewhere between the cooking and eating area- such as to the left of where you stood when you took the full dinette view picture.
I have a friend who's plate collection extends along the sides of the kitchen door and over it.
what a fantastic space you have there, i'm so jealous. the clock idea definitely has potential....
happy weekend x c
I love the colour of your walls and especially love the tiles in front of your fireplace - quite modern but a nod to the past also.
The clock would look great in this area and would be a real conversation piece. Although, milk glass plates would look sensational too, particularly given the colour of your walls.
You have a lovely home.
love what you choose and make it yours and it will surely stand the test of time.
it is a lovely spot, I am drawn to that window and seeing the white plates sounds pretty fab.
I LOVE the clock idea and think you could even do it WITH a collection of plates! The neat thing about that clock is you could personalize it however you like.
Hope you're having a fab weekend!
Tina - I think the fireplace does work - but I don't use it - I have underfloor heating and that's warm enough!
hi lynne,
thanks for popping by my wee blog and your kind comments about my well organised fabrics... :)
i thought the same thing about this clock, it would be so easy to make your own... yours could have your budding plate collection as the numbers instead of the little prints, it would look so cute!
have a lovely sunday,
emma
