Teany in New York

Teany in Rivington Street in New York is one of my favourite tea shops. It's owned by the musician Moby and there are 98 different varieties of tea to choose from. This photo was taken on a balmy summer evening (I actually mean it was humid and sticky), sitting outside on the benches with twinkling fairy lights behind us. The desserts are all vegan, but we struck gold with this delicious chocolate cake - once I had the strawberry shortcake and it was thoroughly unpleasant. They have a great website too; you can enter the qualities you want your tea to have (eg calming, uplifting) and it tells you what kind of tea you should order.
